Epiphany is one of the greatest Christian feasts. The day marks the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River by St. John the Baptist.
Today the Bulgarian Orthodox church consecrates troops and their flags. Traditionally, on this day a cross is consecrated and thrown into a river or artificial lake. The one who manages to take the cross out of the water will have a healthy and successful year.
